Praveg is a company that builds luxury resorts in places where traditional construction is impossible - on beaches, beside archaeological ruins, and on remote islands - using non-permanent tents and cottages that leave the landscape largely untouched. It began life as a pharmaceutical company in 1995, absorbed an events business in 2016, and then pivoted into hospitality in 2015 by winning the contract to operate the White Rann Resort during Gujarat’s Rann Utsav festival. The recurring approach is to secure long-term government contracts for pristine, culturally significant sites, then deploy its in-house expertise in temporary structures - honed over two decades of building exhibition pavilions - to create high-end, eco-responsible guest experiences.
Business segments
Three engines at different stages - an eco-responsible hospitality platform built on government partnerships, an events and exhibitions business that is the company’s original skill, and a recently acquired outdoor-advertising operation - each extending the same core capability of creating premium temporary structures.
1. Eco-responsible hospitality: luxury tents where hotels cannot be built
Praveg wins long-term government contracts to operate premium, non-permanent resorts on public land in culturally and ecologically sensitive destinations, earning luxury hotel rates with a fraction of the construction cost.
- Public land, private operator - the company operates under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models with state tourism departments, giving it access to locations like the White Rann salt desert, the Statue of Unity complex, and the Lakshadweep islands on fixed-lease, long-term contracts.
- Tents instead of concrete - because its resorts use luxury tents, A-frame cottages, and elevated wooden Machans rather than permanent buildings, Praveg can set up in ecologically fragile zones where traditional construction is prohibited, while keeping capital costs low and returns on capital high.
- A portfolio of 18 properties - as of early 2026, the company runs 17 resorts and 1 five-star hotel totalling 827 rooms across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Daman & Diu, Uttar Pradesh, and Lakshadweep, with average room rates ranging from about ₹4,000 at Silvassa to over ₹52,000 at the Bangaram Island resort in Lakshadweep.
- In-house everything - the company maintains its own creative studio, architect team, 24x7 reservation desk, social media unit, food-and-beverages team, and a quality-control manager who trains staff across properties, so it does not depend on outsourced operators for the guest experience.
- A pipeline of 577 rooms - ten new destinations are in development, including luxury resorts in Meghalaya (awarded February 2026 under a 30-year concession), Udaipur, Ranthambhore, and additional islands in Lakshadweep, with a stated ambition of 2,000-plus rooms across 50-plus locations by 2028.
2. Exhibitions and events: the original skill that makes the resorts possible
The company has built more than 2,000 exhibitions and 1,000 events worldwide over two decades, mastering the art of erecting large-scale temporary structures quickly - the same skill that underpins its tented resorts.
- Turnkey government events - Praveg designs and executes state-sponsored events from start to finish, including pavilions for Gujarat Tourism that have won more than 20 awards at national exhibitions, and it continues to win mandates such as World Lion Day 2025.
- Global reach from a Gujarat base - the exhibitions portfolio spans projects in the USA, China, South Korea, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, serving a client list of over 150 names that includes Reliance Industries, Adani, ESSAR, and multiple state government bodies.
- Record-holding temporary construction - the company is cited in the Limca Book of Records for designing the longest backdrop, the largest multi-level temporary stage, and a giant ball made of 6,400 nursery balls during the Khel Mahakumbh in Surat.
- Weddings and banquets as a new line - the events division has recently expanded into bespoke wedding and banquet services, using hotels designed specifically for large social gatherings, which extends the same temporary-structure and event-management capabilities into a recurring consumer market.
3. Outdoor advertising: a recently acquired hoarding and media-buying business
Praveg bought majority stakes in two Gujarat-based advertising firms in 2024, gaining a portfolio of over 800 hoardings and exclusive media rights that generate revenue without requiring the company to build anything itself.
- Bought, not built - the company acquired a 51% stake in Abhik Advertising (operating since 2008) and Bidhan Advertising (a legacy firm dating to 1990) in a single transaction completed in July 2024, with the original promoters continuing to run day-to-day operations under a board that Praveg chairs.
- A hoarding portfolio with two economics - the subsidiaries control 800 private hoardings across Ahmedabad, Baroda, and Rajkot that generate revenue backed by their own capital investment, plus exclusive rights to over 800 HPCL hoardings across Gujarat and Rajasthan that deliver revenue with zero capital outlay.
- Rights attached to public infrastructure - the business holds exclusive 15-year advertising rights on 120 smart toilets in Ahmedabad (40 already installed) and has deployed two similar units in Jaisalmer, earning revenue from the hoardings mounted on them while the municipal corporation funds the construction.
- Media buying across formats - beyond outdoor, the subsidiaries buy advertising space across print, radio, television, and digital platforms, and hold sole rights to secure government advertising in UFO digital theatres across Gujarat, together contributing over ₹6 crore in annual revenue.
Group structure and partners
Praveg is the listed parent, operating its hospitality and events businesses directly while holding majority stakes in advertising subsidiaries and a wholly owned theme-park SPV, with key resort properties managed in partnership with IHCL.
- The company has seven subsidiaries: five wholly owned (including the Adalaj Theme Park SPV, a Kenyan safari entity, a US entity, an Australian entity, and a newly incorporated Rann Utsav subsidiary) plus a 99% stake in a Tanzanian safari subsidiary and a 51% stake in an advertising firm.
- A scheme to merge Eulogia Inn Private Limited - which operates a 45-room Ahmedabad hotel with three banquets and two conference halls - into Praveg is underway, having received a no-adverse-observations letter from BSE in January 2026 and awaiting NCLT and shareholder approval.
- The flagship Bangaram Island resort in Lakshadweep is operated by The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) under the Taj SeleQtions brand via a management agreement, while the Jalandhar Circuit House Resort in Diu is run in partnership with Roots Corporation Limited (Ginger, an IHCL brand).
- An inventory agreement with Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited covers 95 rooms across select properties, though MHRIL has exited the arrangement for three specific Diu and Daman resorts in mid-2026, with Praveg continuing to operate them independently.
- A previous venture - a news and current-affairs TV channel called ‘Praveg TV’ launched on TATA PLAY in August 2023 - was closed in June 2024 after the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting cancelled the uplink-downlink permission and the company concluded the effort added insufficient value.
