Shine Fashions is a specialist in the hidden architecture of clothing - it supplies the interlining fabrics that give collars, cuffs and waistbands their shape, without which a tailored jacket or a crisp shirt would collapse. The company was born in 2019 when it took over a decades-old proprietorship, inheriting a network that management calls a “century old good brand image”, and it has operated since then on a single recurring approach: application engineering, walking customers “from the initial idea through to serial production”. That approach is now being extended backward - after years as a pure trader and importer, the company is building what it describes as India’s first interlining waterjet manufacturing facility, a move designed to replace imports with domestic production.
Business segments
A single engine powering the entire business - the supply of interlining fabrics to apparel manufacturers - now being reinforced by a manufacturing build-out that will turn a trader into a producer.
1. Interlining supply: the skeleton inside every garment
The company imports and distributes the full spectrum of interlining fabrics that apparel makers need to give structure to suits, shirts, trousers and ethnic wear - it is a one-stop shop for a component most consumers never see.
- The invisible structural layer - interlinings are technical textiles fused or sewn between the outer fabric and the lining of a garment to provide shape, reinforcement and wrinkle resistance; the company calls them the garment’s “skeleton”. Without them, a shirt collar would crumple and a tailored jacket would lose its form.
- A catalogue built for every fabric and finish - the range spans non-woven, woven fusible, microdot fusible, polyester fusible, cotton fusible, tricot and hot-melt adhesive interlinings, each engineered for a specific job: waterjet interlinings hold the shape of suits and ethnic wear, waistband interlinings stiffen men’s trousers with ultrasonically cut thermoplastic finished with acrylic for smooth edges, and shirt interlinings reinforce collars, cuffs and plackets. The company claims to offer “the perfect shirt interlining solution for every outer fabric”.
- Beyond interlinings - the full trims kit - the business also supplies lining fabrics such as taffeta (a smooth, luxurious fabric used in trousers, suits and wedding dresses, available in silk or piece-dyed polyester), prefabricated chest pieces and tapes, and specialty materials like Freudenberg webs that bond lightweight modern fabrics with nothing more than an iron. This turns a single supplier relationship into a broader convenience for garment factories.
- Application engineering, not just order-taking - the company supports customers with technical know-how from the initial design idea through to full production, drawing on more than a decade of experience in the technical textile market and a claim to have pioneered the introduction of interlinings in India. Sales and application-technology studios are maintained “all over the world”.
2. In-house manufacturing: the trader becoming a producer
A first-of-its-kind waterjet interlining factory is under construction in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, designed to replace imports with domestically made product - the company is building the capability it used to buy from others.
- India’s first waterjet interlining line - the project is described as a pioneering manufacturing facility for the country, with the finished product positioned as a significant import substitute. The company’s stated vision is to establish “India’s first Interlining Waterjet Manufacturing Facility”.
- Three phases, eighteen months - approved by the Board in February 2025, the project is structured in three stages: the first phase targets completion in roughly four months at a cost of Rs. 12 Crores, with all three phases wrapped up within 15 to 18 months, aiming for a start by February 2025 and full completion by July 2026. Total project cost is estimated at Rs. 12.1 Crores, split across land and building, plant and machinery, fittings and fixtures, and additional working capital.
- Capacity to supply at scale - once operational, the plant is designed to produce approximately 144 lakh metres per annum, with output varying by fabric weight or GSM. The factory will occupy three galas totalling 7,500 square feet across ground, first and second floors on Pipeline Road in Kalher, Bhiwandi.
- A manufacturing muscle already flexing - the company’s production journey began with the commencement of commercial production at its Bhiwandi manufacturing unit in October 2021, and its subsidiary Shinetex Industries provides job-work services to the parent. The firm describes its trajectory as a progression from trading to advanced in-house manufacturing.
Group structure and partners
A listed entity with a manufacturing subsidiary, a second acquisition in the pipeline, and a global export push funded by a fresh capital raise - the corporate structure is being reshaped to match the manufacturing ambition.
- A subsidiary that does the making - Shine Fashions holds a 50.01% stake in Shinetex Industries Private Limited, which was incorporated in 2021 for textile manufacturing and finishing and generates revenue by providing job-work services to the parent. The parent has extended an unsecured, interest-free working-capital loan of Rs. 17.3 Lacs to the subsidiary.
- An acquisition to add scale - in January 2026 the Board approved participation in the acquisition of S K S Textiles Limited, a Mumbai-based NSE-listed textile manufacturer that operates a unit in Bhiwandi and specializes in natural and man-made fibres, through the insolvency process for a total cash consideration of Rs. 12.6 Crores. Once completed, S K S Textiles will become a subsidiary, expected to strengthen operational capabilities and unlock economies of scale.
- A global export bet backed by a market study - the company spent Rs. 7.55 Crores on a one-time expense for carrying out a market study across three continents and establishing presence in a global textile export market it estimates at over USD 4 billion. In May 2026 the Board approved a fund-raising plan of up to Rs. 35 Crores to finance the resulting export operations and increased working-capital needs.
- Publicly traded, bank-backed - the company’s shares are listed on the BSE SME Emerge Platform under the symbol SHINEFASH, and its principal banker is Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mulund West Branch, Mumbai.
