Shri Dinesh Mills Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Jul 2026

  1. DRL disposal completed - loss-making subsidiary removed - The sale of Dinesh Remedies Ltd closed on 3 September 2025 for a total consideration of ₹5.43 cr, eliminating a business that posted a net loss of ₹5.66 cr on revenue of ₹34.29 cr in FY25. The exit stops the single largest drain on consolidated earnings and frees management attention for the core textile operations.
  2. FELT business demerger - family settlement unlocks structure - A Family Settlement Agreement signed on 29 April 2026 provides for the segregation and demerger of the FELT business into a separate company, with the residual business staying in SDM. The split removes a long-standing governance overhang and lets each vertical pursue its own capital allocation and growth strategy under dedicated oversight.
  3. High-speed paper-machine-felt exports - Russia, Brazil, and new markets - The company has gained traction in critical high-speed applications in India, Russia, and Brazil and is now targeting Bangladesh, Thailand, and South Africa. Export revenue was ₹9.99 cr in FY25 (16.34% of sales), and further penetration of high-speed machines globally can lift both volumes and realisations in the highest-margin part of the felt portfolio.
  4. Seamed felts - higher-priced product under development - Management is developing seamed felts to serve a large global customer requirement that commands significantly higher pricing than conventional felts. Commercialising this product would open a premium revenue stream in markets currently addressed mainly by global competitors.
  5. Tissue and paper-packaging demand - structural tailwind for felts - Rising hygiene awareness and the government ban on single-use plastic are expected to drive tissue and paper-packaging growth, which in turn lifts demand for paper-maker’s felts. As the dominant Indian supplier to high-speed machines, SDM is placed to capture a disproportionate share of that incremental volume.
