WPIL Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Aug 2026
- Jal Jeevan Mission 2 restart - Cabinet cleared Phase 2 in March with \~₹5 lakh cr of the ₹8.6 lakh cr outlay still to spend by December 2028; WPIL holds a ₹1,400 cr JJM EPC order book, mostly in final commissioning stages, with ₹300-350 cr receivables expected to flow in Q2 FY27. Fund release removes the working-capital drag that held project revenue at ₹43 cr in Q1 FY27 and should convert the near-complete backlog into revenue and cash.
- PCI Africa order book - PCI Africa started executing two large South African contracts won in FY26: the ₹1,172 cr Lower Umkhomazi water works (36-month build) and the ₹630 cr Macassar wastewater upgrade (54-month build). These are 3-4 year contracts with advances, 7-day payments and better margins than Indian EPC, so revenue should ramp through FY27-FY29 as execution peaks in year two.
- Domestic product order book - Domestic product division ended FY26 with a record ₹579.6 cr order backlog, up from ₹428 cr at 9M FY26, with Q1 FY27 revenue at ₹72 cr vs ₹65 cr a year ago. The engineered-to-order segment (irrigation and power pumps) grew to ₹184 cr in FY26 from ₹133 cr, and the backlog plus "exceptionally strong" enquiries supports continued double-digit growth.
- River-linking pump order - WPIL secured a \~₹320 cr order for 30 MW pumps on the Rajasthan Eastern Canal river-linking project, following its earlier Kaleshwaram supply. This is a breakthrough into a new large-pump category that management expects to accelerate as river-linking irrigation projects pick up in '26.
- Gruppo Aturia MENA demand - Gruppo Aturia is seeing fresh order inflows from MENA oil & gas and water sectors, including gas turbine pumps, with a strong order book and a new large pump test facility commissioned in Q1 FY26. MENA infrastructure investment is reviving postponed contracts, which should lift the international product business from its stable base.
- MISA Italy turnaround - MISA Italy completed all legacy contracts and is now bidding a healthy pipeline of new irrigation and drainage tenders. The completion of loss-making legacy work removes a drag, and new wins would add a second European project leg alongside Gruppo Aturia.
- Minority buyouts - Management intends to buy out minority shareholders in PCI Africa over three years, climbing to 100%, and is considering similar moves in other South African and Singapore subsidiaries. Full ownership would lift consolidated profit by capturing the minority share of PCI Africa's large, high-margin order book.
- Clyde Pumps MENA exports - Clyde Pumps India delivered record profitability in FY25, supported by exports to the MENA region, with capacity added and Gulf oil & gas markets growing. This adds an export-driven product leg with improving margins, complementing the domestic product division.
