Amal Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Jul 2026
- Sulphuric acid capacity expansion via ASCL subsidiary - Amal Speciality Chemicals Ltd (ASCL), the wholly owned subsidiary incorporated in October 2020, has commenced operations with 300 tonnes per day of sulphuric acid capacity, more than doubling the parent's existing 140 tpd plant at Ankleshwar. The combined 440 tpd capacity drove a 40% consolidated revenue jump to ₹8,609 lakhs in FY24, its first full year of contribution, and management expects the scale to deliver higher market share.
- Related-party offtake with Atul Ltd - The Board has secured shareholder approval for related-party transactions with parent Atul Ltd for FY26 and FY27, with combined sale/purchase limits of ₹6,313 lakhs for Amal Ltd and ₹7.118 lakhs for Amal Speciality Chemicals Ltd. These arrangements provide a committed demand floor for the expanded capacity, directly linking output to the parent's chemical manufacturing requirements.
- Ongoing capex programme - Standalone capital work-in-progress has risen steadily from ₹5.34 lakh in March 2024 to ₹72.29 lakh by September 2025, while consolidated CWIP reached ₹81.36 lakh in the same period. The rising CWIP signals incremental capacity or efficiency investments that can lift volumes beyond the ASCL ramp-up already underway.
- Indian sulphuric acid market growth - The domestic sulphuric acid market is estimated at 17 million tonnes per annum and growing at roughly 3% annually, with the company selling within a 200 km radius of its Gujarat site. A growing local market absorbs the combined 440 tpd capacity without requiring distant logistics, supporting both volume and realisations.
- Product-mix optimisation - Management identifies optimising the product mix, alongside high capacity utilisation, conversion efficiency, and full steam deployment, as the key success factors for the business. Shifting the mix toward higher-margin downstream products like oleum and sulphur trioxide can lift margins on the same fixed asset base.
