Anjani Portland Cement Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Jul 2026

  1. Brand harmonisation to "Chettinad Cement" - A phased transition of the company's cement from the "Anjani" brand to the "Chettinad Cement" brand has commenced, alongside a parallel transition at subsidiary Bhavya Cements. This aligns the product with the parent group's established brand equity, which can support realisations and market penetration in the southern region.
  2. Bhavya Cements amalgamation - A draft Scheme of Amalgamation to merge subsidiary Bhavya Cements into the company is progressing through regulatory approvals. Consolidation simplifies the corporate structure and eliminates minority-interest leakage from a subsidiary that shares common markets with the parent plant.
  3. Kiln optimisation and debottlenecking - The company increased kiln output and undertook equipment debottlenecking during FY25, even as annual capacity utilisation fell to 61%. With 11,60,000 MT of installed capacity already in place, any demand recovery flows through to output and unit-cost absorption without requiring major new capex.
  4. Alternative fuel cost efficiency - The captive power plant achieved a best-lowest heat rate of 3,168 Kcal/kWhr in FY25, and the thermal substitution rate from zero-cost pharmaceutical waste held at 9.65%. Sustaining or improving this substitution rate directly lowers power and fuel cost per tonne, which is the largest variable expense in cement manufacturing.
  5. Blended cement product mix - Blended cement (PPC and Composite Cement) accounted for 32.6% of total production in FY25. A further shift toward blended cement reduces clinker factor and raw-material cost per tonne, lifting margins on the existing volume base.
  6. Inter-company cement trading with CCCPL - The company has proposed transactions with parent CCCPL for the sale and purchase of cement and clinker at market prices, with total expected value of approximately ₹1,000 crore. Access to the parent's trading book can expand effective sales volume beyond the company's own 7.05 lakh MT of annual production.
