Avanti Feeds Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. US tariff refunds - Avanti Frozen Foods, as importer of record, expects roughly USD 15-20 million in refunds for IEEPA tariffs paid since April 2025, with processing after ADD/CVD reviews conclude over 12-18 months. That is about 15% of FY26 EBITDA, landing as cash once the reviews clear.
  2. Shrimp processing volume ramp - Export volumes rose 20% to 16,976 MT in FY26, with FY27 targeted at \~19,000 MT. The Krishnapatnam plant (7,000 MT, commissioned March 2024) is filling up, and no major capex is foreseen for two years - so incremental volume drops to the bottom line.
  3. Pet care own production - Commercial production at the Hyderabad plant (30 acres, \~₹175 crore capex) is scheduled to start early 2027. Trading revenue is tiny (₹1.8 crore in Q1 FY27), but management expects cost effectiveness to improve materially once imports are replaced by own manufacturing.
  4. Feed price hikes - A \~10% feed price hike was taken on 19 June, with another planned in the next few days from 12 June 2026 to offset raw material inflation. Fish meal prices doubled to \~₹240/kg and soya bean meal rose \~45%; the hikes protect feed segment margins, which at 12.79% PBIT are the company's main earnings engine.
  5. Ecuador feedmill stake - Board approved a USD 3 million investment for 10% of Thai Union Feedmill Ecuador, a yet-to-be-incorporated aquaculture feed company. It extends Avanti's feed technology into a new shrimp-farming geography through its JV partner, with minimal capital at risk.
  6. Fish feed inland entry - Trials of fish feed imported from Thai Union Feed Mill are underway; on success, Avanti proposes a domestic manufacturing facility under a technical collaboration. India's inland aquaculture is a new market adjacent to shrimp feed, where Avanti already holds \~50% share.
  7. Value-added product mix - The processing division is shifting toward cooked, breaded and ready-to-cook formats, with a food-ingredients partner accelerating R&D. Value-added products reduce factory output but improve margin structure - a mix shift that lifts per-tonne realisations without new capex.
  8. Market diversification - North America's share of processed shrimp sales fell from 83.4% in FY24 to 62.6% in Q1 FY27, with Asia and Europe absorbing the difference. Non-US shrimp exports from India grew 30% YoY, and Avanti is deepening presence in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe - reducing single-geography risk.
