Chaman Metallics Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Jul 2026

  1. Captive power cost savings - The 30 MW captive power plant (12 MW WHRB + 18 MW AFBC) generates electricity at \~₹4-4.5 per unit versus \~₹9 per unit from the grid, saving \~₹4.5-5 per unit. At full utilisation, this removes a major variable cost drag across all production segments and directly expands margins.
  2. Capex cycle complete, cash generation begins - Capital commitments remaining fell from ₹86.7 crore (March 2024) to ₹3.4 crore (March 2025), and capital work-in-progress dropped from ₹338 crore to near zero by March 2026. With the heavy spending behind it, operating cash flow can now turn toward debt reduction and funding growth internally.
  3. Ferro alloys BIS certification opens markets - BIS granted a Product Certification Licence for Silicomanganese on 27 December 2025, conforming to IS 1470:2013. The certification enables standardised sales to domestic and international buyers, supporting the ramp-up of the newly commissioned 29,403 TPA submerged arc furnace.
  4. Further sponge iron capacity in pipeline - MPCB granted Consent to Establish for an additional 1,65,000 TPA of sponge iron capacity on 5 November 2025, taking total proposed capacity to 3,52,500 TPA. This signals a second phase of volume growth beyond the just-completed expansion, using existing land and infrastructure at Chandrapur.
  5. Additional waste heat recovery approved - MPCB also granted Consent to Establish for an additional 13 MW WHRB, raising total proposed WHRB capacity to 25 MW. More waste-heat-based power further lowers the blended cost of electricity and improves the carbon profile of operations.
