Career Point Edutech is an education company built on a 30-year-old coaching brand from Kota, Rajasthan - the city synonymous with India’s competitive-exam culture - that has since transformed itself into an asset-light services partner for schools, colleges, and universities. It began in 1993 when an IIT Delhi alumnus started teaching 50 students in a tyre godown, and after decades of running tutorial centres, the education business was legally separated from its former parent in 2023 to operate as a focused, pure-play entity. The recurring idea is standardisation: turning decades of teaching know-how into ready-to-use products - course materials, franchise manuals, school-management processes - so the company can expand without depending on star teachers or heavy capital investment.
Business segments
Two engines at different stages - an institutional-services business that manages entire campuses, and a multi-modal test-prep platform that sells coaching through franchises, schools, a digital app and a publishing imprint - both drawing on the same Kota brand and standardised content factory.
1. Formal Education Services: the institutional backbone
Career Point takes over the non-academic running of schools and universities - admissions, timetables, faculty hiring, IT, even transport - so the institution can focus on teaching, and it earns a fee tied to student numbers.
- Runs the whole campus, not just a classroom - under the Enterprise Solution, Career Point’s team becomes an extension of the institution, managing everything from admissions and infrastructure to examinations and sports training, which creates deep integration and makes the client relationship hard to unwind.
- A lighter-touch option for new relationships - the Modular Solution lets institutions pick individual services, such as only admission support or only curriculum design, giving Career Point a way to enter new markets and later cross-sell the fuller package.
- Revenue rises with the partner’s success - fees are structurally linked to enrollments and programme growth at partner institutions, so Career Point earns more only when its client institutions grow.
- Existing campuses have room to fill - across the managed schools and universities, about 8,200 students were enrolled against an available capacity of roughly 17,800, meaning utilisation stands at 46% with total campus capacity exceeding 44,000 students. One residential school in Kota, for instance, has capacity for 3,000 but only about 400 boarders; the company plans to open it to day scholars from the local area, which would add students with almost no extra construction cost.
- Admission portals act as a feeder - two online platforms, one covering 30-plus Indian universities and another covering over 1,500 international universities, bring in students through guided application support, and those students and institutions then become prospects for Career Point’s wider management services.
2. Test Preparation Services: the brand engine
The Kota coaching method - standardised study material, practice papers, test series - is packaged and sold through four channels, turning a 30-year-old tutorial reputation into a product that can be delivered anywhere without the company owning the classroom.
- School-integrated coaching: B2B subscriptions - through the CP Techno Academy programme, Kota faculty deliver live online classes for JEE, NEET and Foundation courses directly inside partner schools during school hours; the school pays an annual subscription fee regardless of student numbers, and each child gets app access to recorded lectures and tests. Launched in 2025-26, it had signed 97 school partnerships by February 2026.
- A direct-to-student digital platform - eCareerPoint sells live and recorded courses for competitive exams to students via web and app, earning through B2C course purchases, B2B licensing to institutions, and add-on sales of printed study materials and test packages.
- A publishing imprint with 400-plus titles - CP Publications produces question banks, solved papers, formula handbooks and quick-revision guides, updated to match the latest exam patterns, and sells them online and in bookstores under its own brand as well as in white-labelled editions for partner institutions.
- Government coaching projects add a fifth stream - the segment also runs five government-sponsored coaching assignments, including one large-scale online project serving 3,500 students, with revenue recognised as service milestones are met.
Group structure and partners
Career Point Edutech was carved out as a standalone education company through a court-approved demerger, and it operates with four subsidiaries beneath it.
- The education business was transferred from CP Capital Limited (formerly Career Point Limited) to Career Point Edutech on a going-concern basis under a Scheme of Arrangement approved by the NCLT, effective April 1, 2023, with the legal order received in April 2025.
- The company has four subsidiaries: Career Point Learning Solution Limited, Career Point Skill Development Private Limited, Career Point Accessories Private Limited, and Edutiger Private Limited.
- The six-member Board includes one Executive Director (the Managing Director) and five Non-Executive Directors, three of whom are Independent, including one woman Independent Director.
- An ongoing arbitration with Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation over a skills-training project resulted in a partial ruling in the company’s favour, quashing a recovery notice and awarding approximately ₹1.62 crore plus interest and costs.
