Everest Kanto Cylinder Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Jul 2026
- Mundra greenfield facility - One production line commenced commercial production and dispatches on 31 December 2025, with the remaining two lines expected in the coming months. Once all lines are operational, the facility adds roughly 15% to overall capacity, with peak revenue earlier estimated at around ₹300 crore.
- US subsidiary capacity expansion - The Board approved a USD 5.5 million capex at CP Industries, backed by a customer contract with an OEM, to enhance manufacturing for larger-diameter and Type 4 cylinders. Management expects the expansion to add roughly ₹100 crore to the top line once complete in FY27-FY28, while reducing the volatility of US revenue.
- Egypt greenfield facility - The Egypt plant is expected to commence operations by May 2026, with customer approval already in place and orders in hand. First-year revenue is expected at about ₹50-60 crore, with margins improving as the plant ramps up toward its earlier peak-revenue estimate of around ₹200 crore.
- CNG cylinder structural tailwinds - India's CNG station network has grown nearly fourfold since 2019 to over 7,400 stations, with a government target of 17,500 stations by 2030 and a push to raise natural gas's energy-mix share from 6% to 15%. CNG contributed roughly 54% of EKC's revenue, and management remains bullish on the segment for at least the next 15 years.
- Commercial vehicle CNG recovery - The commercial vehicle CNG business, subdued for two years, is seeing volume growth as infrastructure expands, and management believes the trend is sustainable. A CV recovery directly lifts the largest domestic cylinder segment, which had been a drag on India volumes.
- Biogas cylinder demand - Mandatory blending of compressed biogas with CNG begins at 1% in FY2025-26 and scales to 5% by FY2028-29, with Reliance alone announcing ₹65,000 crore in biogas capex. EKC already supplies cylinders and cascades to Reliance and expects to sell more as biogas plants are commissioned over the next 2-3 years.
- Semiconductor and defence segments - The company has entered the semiconductor segment and is seeing a good order book, while defence orders are in hand and the pipeline is positive. Management credits the focus on these higher-value-added segments as a contributor to margin improvement.
- UAE business breakeven - UAE operations are expected to break even in FY27, with only a 10% revenue increase from current levels needed to reach breakeven. Moving a loss-making unit to breakeven removes a direct drag on consolidated earnings.
