Firstsource Solutions' record is clean on audit: eight years of unqualified opinions and operating cash flow that has covered profit in every one of those years. Three things deserve attention. Goodwill has more than doubled to ₹4,266 crore through serial acquisitions with no impairment ever recorded, even as a standalone ₹87.92 crore provision against an associate signals the risk is real. Exceptional items have become a recurring, material feature that reshapes reported profit each year. And unbilled receivables have more than doubled in four years to ₹769.20 crore while revenue recognition remains a Key Audit Matter for the seventh straight year.

What to watch
- Unbilled revenue collection. Collection of the ₹769.20 crore unbilled revenue balance as of March 31, 2026 and whether the 79-day receivable days normalise or continue to rise.
- Medicare Advantage impact. Impact of the Medicare Advantage program suspensions announced in January 2026 on the Healthcare vertical's revenue and unbilled receivables in subsequent quarters.
- Goodwill impairment test. Next annual goodwill impairment test for the enlarged ₹4,265.53 crore balance, with results to be reported in the FY2026-27 Annual Report.
- Tax demand resolution. Resolution of income-tax demands of ₹2,094.49 crore and GST demands of ₹89.35 crore pending in appeal as of the FY2025-26 reporting period.
Bottom line: This is a disclosed and audited record with real cash conversion: operating cash flow has covered profit in every one of the last six years, and the audit opinion has never been qualified. The risk sits in three places: a goodwill balance that has doubled through acquisitions without ever facing an impairment charge, unbilled receivables that are growing faster than revenue while revenue recognition remains the auditor's longest-running Key Audit Matter, and a ₹2,362 crore MAT credit asset whose recoverability depends on phasing-out SEZ profits and has been flagged as a Key Audit Matter by the auditor. Watch the goodwill impairment test, the collection of those unbilled balances, and whether the Medicare Advantage suspensions turn a disclosed concentration risk into a realised one.
