Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Jul 2026

  1. Project Ahvaan - ₹10,000+ Cr revenue target by FY31 - Management launched a company-wide business transformation program, supported by AT Kearney, targeting annual revenues of over ₹10,000 crores and sustaining EBITDA margins above 20% by FY31. This represents more than doubling the current revenue base with a margin profile roughly twice the recent reported OPM, implying a step-change in earnings scale if achieved.
  2. Chlorotoluenes plant - Dahej (30,000 MTPA) - India's largest Chlorotoluenes plant, built at an estimated cost of ₹350 crores, was commissioned on 29 March 2025 and has dispatched all three products - Benzyl Chloride, Benzyl Alcohol, and Benzaldehyde - with the first consignments of Benzyl Alcohol and Benzaldehyde shipped on 5 July 2025. At full capacity, the plant is projected to generate annual revenues of approximately ₹400 crores, including export earnings of ₹130 crores, adding roughly 9% to the current topline from a newly commissioned asset.
  3. Food Grade Phosphoric Acid Plant - Dahej (33,870 TPA) - The board approved a ₹560 crore plant at Dahej, where the existing Food Grade Phosphoric Acid unit is already running at 100% capacity and has opened entry into edible oil, food-grade phosphates, and carbonated drinks segments. The new plant is expected to contribute additional annual revenues of up to ₹350 crores, effectively doubling capacity in a segment where demand already exceeds current supply.
  4. Caustic Potash (KOH) capacity enhancement - Vadodara - Board approved phase-wise relocation of electrolysers and enhancement of KOH production capacity from 120 TPD to 200 TPD at an estimated cost of about ₹80 crores. The expansion is expected to add net annual revenue of ₹130 crores at current market prices, a high-return incremental investment given the modest capex outlay.
  5. Caustic Soda Prills debottlenecking - Dahej - Capacity enhancement through debottlenecking, using technology imported from Bertrams Chemicals Plant Ltd., Switzerland, will raise Prills output from 120 MT/day to about 200 MT/day and is expected to be commissioned in Q4 of FY2025-26. The near-completion status means incremental volume and revenue should begin flowing within the current fiscal year.
  6. Renewable energy - 75 MW Hybrid Power with CleanMax - GACL holds 26% in an SPV with CleanMax implementing 75.90 MW of wind and 84.34 MWp of solar capacity across four Gujarat sites, with 100% of power for captive consumption under a 25-year agreement. The project is expected to generate \~36.9 crore units of clean power annually, reducing energy costs and insulating margins from grid-price volatility across both Dahej and Vadodara units.
  7. Bio fuel/Coal fired boilers - Vadodara and Dahej - Board approved installation of four boilers (two at each complex) at an aggregate cost of ₹389 crores, expected to generate 12 MW of power and substantially reduce the cost of steam. Lower steam costs directly reduce the overall cost of production, widening margins across the entire product portfolio at both manufacturing sites.
  8. High Purity Grade Hydrogen Peroxide Plant - Dahej (5,000 TPA) - Board approved a ₹67 crore plant to produce high-purity grade hydrogen peroxide for niche applications in semiconductor fabrication, solar cell manufacturing, and advanced electronics, planned to go on stream within 18 months from the zero date. The plant is expected to contribute annual sales revenue of approximately ₹42 crores and diversifies the product mix into high-growth, import-substitution electronics-grade chemicals.
