Gulshan Polyols Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. Ethanol utilisation ramp-up - Capacity utilisation sits at \~65-70% against 810 KLPD installed capacity, with management targeting 80-90% in FY27 and 100-110% by FY28 through debottlenecking. Each 10% utilisation gain adds roughly 2.6 crore litres of output - at current realisations, that is over ₹180 crore of revenue with no new capex.
  2. OMC order book growth - The ethanol order book stands at \~19 crore litres, with \~2 crore litres "almost announced unofficially" and further C2/C3 tender allocations expected through FY27. The current 18-crore-litre book translates to \~₹1,250 crore revenue; management expects at least 22 crore litres within FY27.
  3. Ethanol margin expansion - Q1 FY27 ethanol EBITDA margin hit 18%, up from 8% a year earlier, driven by softer maize prices and all-time-high DDGS prices. Management calls ₹9-10 per litre EBITDA sustainable, and DDGS alone adds \~₹10 per litre of ethanol economics.
  4. PLI incentive flow - MP and Assam plants earn ₹1.5 and ₹2 per litre PLI respectively, worth \~₹30 crore annually; FY26 MP PLI is due in Q2/Q3 FY27 and Assam PLI is still pending clearances. These are near-pure margin additions - Q3 FY26's 17% segment margin already included PLI benefit.
  5. Grain processing recovery - Management targets 100% capacity utilisation by end-FY27 and \~5% EBITDA margin on \~₹800 crore revenue, versus FY26's 2.1% margin on ₹610 crore. Maize price correction has restored export competitiveness, with sorbitol already going to 45+ countries.
  6. Narsinghpur specialty chemicals project - A \~₹500 crore capex on 100 acres in Madhya Pradesh is planned to start FY28, targeting ₹1,000-1,500 crore revenue at \~15% EBITDA margin and \~22% ROCE. This is the next growth leg after ethanol, with management aiming for ₹5,000 crore group revenue in four years.
  7. On-site PCC plant at Trident - The 22,000 MTPA PCC facility at Barnala, Punjab is commissioned and expected to generate revenue from end-FY27 under a decade-long partnership. It adds a captive, contract-backed revenue stream to the stable mineral segment, which already earns 23-24% EBITDA margins.
  8. Ethanol policy tailwinds - India hit 19.8% blending in ESY 2024-25, ahead of schedule, with E30 targeted by 2030 and E25/E27 discussions underway. Management is prepared to run at 100% utilisation once the E30 mandate arrives, and higher blends are exempt from central excise duty.
