I G Petrochemicals Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Aug 2026
- Plasticizer plant start-up - Commercial production at the 75,000-tonne Taloja plasticizer plant starts before September 2026, with FY27 sales targeted at 15,000-20,000 tonnes and revenue of ₹200-250 crore. At full utilization, the plant adds \~₹1,000 crore gross revenue against a ₹165-200 crore capex, with EBITDA margins of 8-12%.
- PAN brownfield expansion (PA5) - The 53,000 MTPA brownfield PAN expansion at Taloja, approved with a ₹345 crore capex and 15% project IRR, replaces the costlier greenfield plan. This adds \~35% to existing PAN capacity at roughly 60% of the greenfield cost, funded largely through debt.
- Non-PAN derivative mix - Q1 FY27 non-PAN revenue hit ₹49 crore, led by Maleic Anhydride and DBP, with management targeting 30% of revenue from other streams. As India's sole MAN producer, better realizations here directly diversify earnings away from the cyclical PAN price.
- DBP debottlenecking - The DBP plant's capacity rose to \~10,000 tonnes per annum from 6,000-7,000, with Q1 FY27 sales at a record ₹28-29 crore. This \~50% capacity increase is already shipped and selling, adding a second earnings leg this fiscal year.
- CBG plant at Raichur - The 5 TPD compressed biogas plant is expected to start in Q3 FY27, with the government's new CBG policy raising capital subsidy \~40-50% and domestic prices 33%. The policy tailwind improves project economics before the plant's first full year of contribution.
- DEP debottlenecking - Capacity expansion from 8,400 to 12,000 tonnes is expected to complete by March 2026, with commissioning under progress. This \~40% capacity increase serves the growing personal-care segment, where India's DEP market is projected to grow at 6.5% CAGR through 2032.
- Export expansion via FTAs - Exports, typically 15-20% of volume, fell to 7-8% in Q1 FY27 on container congestion, but Europe has opened via the India-UK FTA with multiple other FTAs signed. Restoring export share to historical levels adds \~10% volume without any new capex.
