- BRICS contribution: The summit helped, but management said that even excluding its impact, Indian Hotels would still have delivered 16% top-line growth.
- Growth guidance: Hotel growth is guided at 17 to 19%, with overall guidance of 15 to 17%. Airline catering and international demand could provide upside if the West Asia crisis subsides.
- Cost strategy: Utility, fuel and generator costs have risen, but the company is optimizing costs and diversifying revenue by brand, geography and contract type; management sees revenue optimization as more important than costs alone.
- Financial resilience: Management highlighted cash reserves, no debt on the books and a diversified top line, saying the company could remain profitable even if margins dropped to 1/2.
- New businesses: TajSATS has reached almost ₹1,500 crore of revenue and Ginger is nearing ₹1,000 plus crores. Together, they already provide more EBITDA than Indian Hotels did in 2017-18.
