- Digital ticketing transformation: IRCTC currently handles nearly 90% of daily rail ticketing (~15 lakh tickets daily) and plans to evolve from a transactional booking site into a comprehensive travel ecosystem covering accommodations, tourism packages, catering, and local mobility.
- iPay payment aggregator: Following in-principle RBI approval in August 2025, IRCTC Payments expects final clearance within 6 to 10 months to roll out a 5-phase expansion from internal ticketing to railway commercial freight transactions, government portals, and open-market payments.
- E-catering revenue target: E-catering meal deliveries have grown to 1.68 lakh meals daily across 400+ stations, generating ~₹71 crore in FY26, with plans to exceed ₹100 crore in subsequent years by expanding station coverage and food partnerships.
- Infrastructure and CapEx: The company is deploying ₹150 crore for an NGeT infrastructure refresh and ₹187 crore for an active-active disaster recovery center in Secunderabad, aiming to increase peak ticketing capacity from ~37,410 to over 1.25 lakh tickets per minute.
- Non-fare revenue outlook: IRCTC is leveraging multi-modal integrations like metro ticketing, "One Nation, One Ticket", and non-invasive advertising to grow non-fare revenue so it eventually equals the convenience fee stream, which currently maintains a 2:1 ratio over non-fare earnings.
