IRM Energy Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. Namakkal & Trichy ramp-up - Namakkal Q1 FY27 volume hit 6 MMSCM, up 102% YoY, against a FY27 target of 25-30 MMSCM. With ₹220-250 crore of board-approved capex for the GA over the next 1.5 years, this GA - at \~5% of profitability today - is the clearest near-term earnings driver.
  2. Fatehgarh Sahib NGT conversion - A February 2026 NGT order directs Punjab to shift industries from coal to PNG, and new CTE/CTO approvals are already being granted only on natural gas. With \~125 of 207 industrial connections active, full implementation would revive the GA's industrial volumes, which fell 7% YoY in 9M FY26.
  3. CNG station network - The network grew 37% YoY to 153 stations with 564 dispensing points as of 30 June 2026, with 36 more stations planned in FY27. Stations are mostly DODO or OMC-operated, so expansion adds volume with minimal capex.
  4. TNSTC bus conversion - CNG sales to TNSTC buses commenced with 80+ buses operational in Namakkal and 50+ in Trichy, with 200+ buses expected in the near future. At \~17% of Namakkal & Trichy's total CNG volume today, this anchor load underpins the GA's volume ramp.
  5. Diu & Gir Somnath grid integration - A new tap-off from the GSPL Chhara Terminal is ready, with rollout within 7-8 months, enabling APM gas flow to the GA. This ends the GA's dependence on costlier LNG from the HPCL terminal, improving sourcing economics.
  6. Gas sourcing mix - Long-term contracts with GSPC and Shell run to 2030, and HPHT gas was secured at \~USD 9 in Q1 FY27 versus spot prices of USD 14-20. With spot reliance at only \~1%, the locked-in domestic mix protects margins.
  7. Venuka Polymers backward integration - The 50% JV, which makes CGD pipes, posted FY25 turnover of ₹97.45 crore, up from ₹63.33 crore in FY24, and management expects turnover to almost double or be 2.5x+ next year. This secures pipe supply for the NT GA build-out while adding an external revenue stream.
  8. CBG blending - Bio-CNG blending is \~1% of the sourcing mix, with a tripartite offtake agreement with GAIL across all four GAs. The excise duty exemption on Bio-CNG saves \~₹1 crore annually, and expanding supply agreements adds a small, recurring margin tailwind.
