Khadim India Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Jul 2026
- Retail footprint cleanup - COCO rationalisation - Approximately 60-65 loss-making company-owned stores were closed, with individual closure losses running ₹5-25 lakhs per year, and the steady-state COCO count is now targeted at \~200 stores. Removing this drain shifts the store network toward an asset-light franchise model where new franchisee stores require only stock investment with no capex and deliver higher profit than COCO.
- Premium sub-brand scaling - Management targets premium sub-brands British Walkers and Sharon to reach 20-25% of the revenue mix in 3-4 years, from Sharon's current 10-15% share, with premium products delivering \~2-3% higher gross margin than mass-market lines. A 50-basis-point gross margin improvement is expected from premiumisation and higher ASPs, feeding directly into the guided 48-50% gross margin for FY27.
- GST rate cut benefit - The GST rate on footwear under ₹2,500 was cut from 12% to 5% in Q2 FY26, with the full margin benefit expected to flow through in Q1 FY27 as inventory cleanup in Q3 and Q4 FY26 had masked the impact. With 70% of the portfolio priced below ₹1,000, the rate reduction widens the gross margin on the bulk of revenue and supports the guided margin expansion.
- E-commerce channel scaling - E-commerce contribution rose from \~1.3% of sales in Q1 FY26 to \~5% for full-year FY26, with own-website margin at \~10% versus 1-2% on marketplaces, and management expects higher contribution in FY27. The shift to Ekart logistics converted fixed costs to variable and cut e-commerce costs by \~20%, making channel growth incrementally more profitable.
- Demerger of distribution and manufacturing into KSR Footwear - The demerger was sanctioned by NCLT Kolkata in March 2025 and completed during FY26, leaving Khadim India as a pure-play retailer while KSR targets profitability by FY27. Sharper operational focus on retail removes the drag of a \~₹100 crore H1 FY26 distribution business that was running below its prior ₹220-230 crore run rate.
- Athleisure segment ramp-up - The athleisure category expanded from a 30-40 store test to 70 stores by Q3 FY26 with 40-50 designs, and management expects ₹15-20 crores of sales in the next financial year with rollout to \~200 COCO and \~200 franchise stores. The segment is expected to contribute positively to gross margins in coming quarters, adding a new revenue stream within existing retail space.
