Kiri Industries Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. Copper complex ramp-up - The Jafrabad copper smelter (5,00,000 MTPA) is in structured construction, with the copper tube plant (35 KT) targeted for Q1 FY28 and the rod plant (2.25 lakh tons) for Q2 FY28. Management targets ₹40,000 crore+ revenue and ₹1,200-1,500 crore EBITDA in FY27-28, scaling to ₹4,500-5,000 crore EBITDA within 3-4 years.
  2. Fertilizer integration - Sulphuric acid from the smelter feeds a 10,50,000 MTPA NP/NPK plant and 3,50,000 MTPA phosphoric acid unit, producing import-substitute phosphatic fertilizer. This converts a smelter waste stream into a second revenue leg, with the fertilizer project costed at \~₹3,600 crore.
  3. Fertilizer trading launch - Trading starts Q2 FY27 under the Indo-Asia Fertilizer brand, with licenses received and port arrangements made; plan is 1 lakh tonnes of traded NPK this year, rising to 3-4 lakh by 2028. This builds the distribution channel and brand ahead of the plant's commissioning, creating early revenue with minimal capex.
  4. Raw material security - Copper concentrate sourcing has firm visibility of \~0.1 crore tons via MoUs (full requirement 0.15 crore tons), with conversion to firm contracts expected October 2028; rock phosphate is fully tied up. Secured feedstock removes the main input bottleneck for a 5,00,000 MTPA smelter in a market where 2026 treatment charges settled at zero.
  5. PLI and state incentives - IACL received PLI approval for copper tubes (up to 4% of net sales, ₹258.97 crore committed investment) and applied under Gujarat Atmanirbhar scheme for 30-35% of eligible capex over 10 years, ₹3,000-3,500 crore total. These subsidies directly lift project returns on a \~₹10,661 crore capex.
  6. Financial closure completion - More than 50% of debt commitments are received, with complete financial closure expected in the next few months. Closing the remaining debt unlocks the \~70:30 debt-equity structure, funding the ₹4,500-5,000 crore capex due by March 2027 without further equity dilution.
  7. Copper foil entry - Trial production for 5,000 KT is planned with a complete system for 10 KT (Phase 1), targeting 40 KT across three phases, operational around March 2028. This value-added product addresses EV and electronics demand, with an ECMS scheme application pending.
