Kirloskar Industries Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. Castings capacity expansion - Solapur's 15,000 MT two-part foundry commissions by October, and Rajpura Phase 1 (25,000 to 40,000-50,000 MT) completes in 8 months, taking total realizable foundry capacity to 270,000 MT within 3 years. Casting volumes are already committed at 1,80,000-1,90,000 MT for FY27, up from \~1,66,000 MT in FY26, with all new orders booked at better pricing than conventional tractor castings.
  2. Steel plant at Koppal - Equipment orders will be signed before 31 March, with commissioning in 2 years; the plant will convert 3.5 lakh tons of pig iron into steel, enabling 2,40,000 MT of external steel sales. This shifts roughly half of pig iron output from commodity pricing into higher-value alloy steel, where bearing steel alone grew 9% and auto segment 38% in FY26.
  3. Jejuri rolling capacity - Rolling capacity rises from 15,000 to 25,000 MT per month within \~18 months, yielding 2,40,000 tons of saleable external alloy steel annually. FY27 external steel sales guidance is already at least 1,00,000-1,10,000 MT, over 20% growth versus 84,000 tons in FY26.
  4. Seamless tubes expander mill - A new expander mill at Baramati, part of a ₹500+ crore investment, lifts tube capacity from 2,30,000 to 3,50,000-4,00,000 MT per annum, with completion in 1.5-2 years. The mill extends tube diameter capability from 10 to 18 inches, opening the additional 40% of the market not currently addressable.
  5. Green power build-out - 35 MW solar is in commissioning and 12 windmills (25 MW) complete by September, adding to the 70 MW Jalna plant already running at full capacity. Combined green power benefit is guided at ₹70-80 crores annually, up from ₹40 crores last year, with power costs already down from 8.0% to 7.6% of sales.
  6. Oliver Engineering merger - The NCLT-sanctioned merger became effective 11 June 2026, consolidating Rajpura foundry results into KFIL from 1 April 2025. Oliver's FY27 target is ₹240-250 crores revenue versus ₹118-120 crores in FY26, with a ₹100 crore investment approved to take capacity to 48,000 MT.
  7. Iron ore backward integration - Jambunath Gudda mine operationalization is progressing, with a beneficiation and pellet plant planned to use all iron ore grades; Bharath mine dispatches have already commenced. Captive ore reduces reliance on external purchases, and KFIL is the only Asian company with mines-to-machined-castings and mines-to-seamless-tubes integration.
  8. Hiriyur blast furnace upgrade - A ₹125-150 crore upgrade adds pulverized coal injection and bell-less top, lifting capacity to 3,00,000 MT and bringing manufacturing cost in line with Koppal, with payback under 2 years. Combined with Koppal oxygen enrichment (PCI from 130 to 160-170 kg), total hot metal capacity reaches 9 lakh MT annually.
  9. ONGC/Oil India tube orders - Orders totaling 23,000 tons of casings and tubing (including couplings) from ONGC and Oil India are expected to complete in the next 2 quarters. These orders secure H2 tube volumes and reinforce revenue visibility in the oil and gas segment.
