Kwality Pharmaceuticals Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Aug 2026
- Hormone plant (Unit 6) startup - Commercial production begins November 2026, with the manufacturing license expected that month and GMP six months later; management targets ₹70-80 cr revenue in FY28 and ₹200 cr by FY29. This is a new earnings leg entirely outside the ₹1,000 cr FY29 target, on ₹65 cr capex that is already 50% spent.
- Bioequivalence filing engine - 40 oral-solid BE studies are underway, with six-seven molecules already finished and commercializable before end-FY27; management expects ₹80-100 cr revenue next year and ₹400-500 cr by FY29. These carry initial EBITDA margins of 40-45%, replacing current GCC business at 20-25% margins.
- Oncology line expansion - One new line with three lyophilizers, \~₹50 cr capex, finishes by March 2027 and adds 45-50% capacity; oncology revenue is targeted to rise from \~₹100 cr in FY26 to ₹150 cr in FY27 and ₹300 cr by FY29. Utilisation is already at 75-80%, so the added capacity is the binding constraint.
- Erythropoietin (Kwalipoietin) launch - Clinical trials begin November-December 2026, with Indian sales expected before end-calendar-2027 and filings already started in 10-12 geographies; management targets ₹80-100 cr from India alone in FY28. The 500L bioreactor is installed at 5x current capacity, and no further biologics capex is required.
- Keytruda (Pembrolizumab) biosimilar - CDSCO approval received, pre-clinical studies run December 2026-March 2027, with commercialization expected before end-calendar-2028 when the patent expires. Kwality expects to be in the first wave of generic entrants for a product used in 42 indications, which could make the FY30 number "bigger".
- Complex injectable BE firsts - Three complex injectables are in BE programs: Ampho B liposomal (second generic), Octreotide LAR (first generic in 70% of markets), and Leuprolide 45 mg (first generic in 75-80% of markets), finishing by Q2 FY28. Being first generic in most markets means pricing power and immediate registration-driven sales.
- Regulatory registration machine - 55 submissions were made in FY26 with \~10 received, 25-30 more planned this year, and 60-70 registrations secured in the last three quarters; each registration adds roughly ₹0.15-0.2 cr in yearly sales. Germany, the first high-regulated market, should yield 7-8 registrations by end-calendar-2027 at \~40% EBITDA margins.
- Algeria joint venture - A fill-finish plant is being set up in Algeria where Kwality supplies API and registrations in exchange for equity, covering the entire MENA region; Algeria already contributes \~₹80-90 cr in FY26 sales and is targeted at 15-16% of the ₹1,000 cr FY29 revenue. A similar arrangement is being pursued in Mexico and other LATAM countries.
