- Credit and deposit growth: Bank of Maharashtra targets 17% to 18% credit growth after achieving 24% domestic growth (27% including GIFT IBU) and 13% deposit growth in Q1. The bank avoided CD issuances and utilized over ₹19,000 crore in refinance at a 6.25% to 6.5% blended cost to sustain margins.
- Credit costs and provisioning: Management maintains guidance to keep credit costs below 1%, noting the underlying cost is 0.40% under IREC norms against an actual 0.99% due to 100% upfront provisioning on fresh slippages, with net NPA at 0.13%.
- ECL framework transition: The bank estimates a ₹2,500 crore total requirement for ECL across RBI's four-year glide path, equating to roughly ₹100 crore quarterly. Having already front-loaded ₹250 crore in provisions, management anticipates zero negative impact on profitability.
- Capital raising plans: With capital adequacy standing at 18.13%, the bank has no urgent need to raise equity for growth, though it maintains an enabling board approval to raise up to ₹7,500 crore through equity and debt.
- Return on assets: Management raised its ROA guidance from 1.75% to 1.80% after achieving 1.90% in Q1 FY27, aiming to enter the 2% ROA range in a calibrated manner.
