Manipal Health Enterprises Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Aug 2026
- Sahyadri margin convergence - Sahyadri runs at 17% EBITDA margin versus 25% ex-Sahyadri, with several hospitals already at 30%+; Q1 revenue was ₹332 cr, up 12.8% YoY. Management is pushing the whole network toward those levels - every 100 bps of margin lift on Sahyadri's run-rate revenue is roughly ₹13 cr of annual EBITDA.
- Bengaluru greenfield ramp - Three greenfields commissioned in the last 12 months, with Kanakapura breaking even in month five and Yelahanka in month two; Electronic City added \~300 beds in July 2026, taking Bangalore to nearly 3,000 licensed beds. These are already at 13% EBITDA margin in Q1 - ahead of expectations - and scale with occupancy.
- Kinder Hospital buyout - Business Transfer Agreement signed August 17, 2026 for ₹130 cr cash; 100-bed Whitefield facility with FY26 revenue of ₹20.7 cr, expected to close within 90 days. This is a running start in a high-growth micro-market where Manipal already operates two hospitals - no ramp-up cost, and it takes pan-India capacity past 13,500 beds.
- Wakad greenfield - Construction commenced at North Pune; follows Raipur (Q4 FY27) and Juhu (2029) in the pipeline. Pune is a proven cluster - nine hospitals there - so this adds beds into an existing catchment with established referral flows.
- CONGO-R specialty mix - Six high-acuity specialties now 65% of revenue, with IP revenue up 45% YoY; oncology alone grew 62% and rose from 10.8% to 12.2% of network revenue. Higher-acuity mix lifts ARPOB and margins - the same beds earn more per occupied day.
- Capex front-ending - \~₹900 cr spent in Q1 of the \~₹2,000 cr FY27 plan; \~₹4,000 cr over 3-4 years adds 3,000 beds. The front-loaded spend means the heaviest cash outlay is now - as beds come on stream through FY27-FY30, cash flow inflects while revenue compounds.
- Sahyadri brownfield expansion - Deccan Gymkhana is adding an entire tower, Hadapsar adding beds, Nashik added 103 beds with LINAC and PET-CT, and Wakad greenfield has commenced. These are near-term capacity additions inside an existing network - no new-market risk, immediate revenue contribution.
- International patients - Up 55% YoY in Q1, still only \~3% of revenue. This is high-margin, cash-paying demand - at 3% of a ₹10,000+ cr revenue base, every doubling adds meaningful EBITDA without incremental bed capex.
- East India cluster - AMRI grew 17% YoY, Medica 15%, with the East region's cash and TPA business up 22%; Dhakuria adds beds with a fully integrated oncology program next quarter. The East is compounding above network average with no new capex - pure operating leverage.
