Medplus Health Services Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report
as of Aug 2026
- 800 net new stores FY27 - Management maintained its FY27 guidance of 800 net new store additions, including franchisees, after FY26 delivered 618 net adds and Q1 FY27 added 146. At 539 sq ft average and new cohorts reaching 6-8% store-level EBITDA by month 12, each year's cohort adds roughly ₹1,000+ crore of annualized revenue within two years.
- Franchisee model acceleration - Q1 FY27 net adds were 131 franchisee stores versus an internal 50:50 estimate, with 500+ franchisee stores now operating. Franchisee stores carry no capex or fixed rent, so a higher mix lifts ROIC and lets the company scale toward the 600-1,000 store annual capacity without balance-sheet strain.
- New store ramp-up curve - FY26 cohort stores hit ₹27,823 revenue per store by month 12 versus ₹21,013 for the FY24 cohort at the same age, and store-level EBITDA reached 6.3% by month 12. The 442-store FY26 cohort is still early in its ramp, so its maturation alone adds roughly ₹150 crore of revenue and \~₹10 crore of EBITDA over the next year.
- Same-store sales growth - COCO store SSSG was 18.2% YoY in Q1 FY27, with the FY25 cohort growing 45% and FY24 cohort 27%. Mature stores (FY23 and earlier, 3,321 stores) still grew 12%, showing the base is compounding without new capex.
- Tier-2/3 densification - 77% of Q1 FY27 net additions were beyond Tier-2, with Tier-2 +57 and Tier-3 +56 stores. These markets have lower rents and less organized competition, so each store reaches breakeven faster and the company captures the unorganized-to-organized shift it has targeted since FY24.
- Diagnostics segment turnaround - Diagnostic Services revenue grew from ₹30.55 crore to ₹131 crore with PBIT margin swinging from -96% to +1.33% over four periods (fundamentals). The segment is now past breakeven, so incremental revenue flows largely to profit; at current scale, each 10% revenue gain adds disproportionate EBITDA.
- Warehouse asset sweating - Management's strategy is densification in existing states first to sweat warehouse assets before entering adjacent states, with Chhattisgarh and Kerala already started. Fixed distribution costs spread over more stores per warehouse lifts store-level margins without additional infrastructure spend.
- Private label non-pharma growth - Private label non-pharma revenue grew 21.4% YoY in Q1 FY27 to ₹1,273.7 million, while private label pharma declined 2.2%. Non-pharma private labels carry higher margins than branded goods, so this mix shift improves gross margin without requiring new stores.
