- Q2 performance: Revenue rose 12% despite the festive calendar shift, while profit improved 14%. Management said margins held through the end-of-season sale despite marketing and talent investments; early Durga Puja sales were strong across city tiers.
- Store expansion: Metro Brands added 21 stores and closed 9 in Q2. It expects to close 2 to 3% of stores annually and prioritizes profitable locations over a fixed target, while indicating a 100-store region per year.
- Clarks rollout: Delayed shipments pushed the full product range to Q3. Clarks will be in about 400 stores in Q3 and all 700 Metro, Mochi doors in Q4; exclusive brand outlets may begin opening toward the end of fiscal year ’27.
- BIS constraints: Management said near-term normalization depends on more production moving to India, which may take time, particularly for athletic products. The disruption is built into contingency plans and is not expected to materially shift the 13 to 15% growth guidance; the company aims to deliver it profitably.
- FILA strategy: FILA pricing will be sharper and more competitive, with a clearer focus on core categories. Management expects FILA to become accretive to profits in FY28.
