- IPO and debt: Prasol Chemicals' ₹500 crore IPO comprises a ₹420 crore offer for sale and an ₹80 crore fresh issue. The company plans to become debt-free by addressing its ₹110 crore total borrowings (including ₹60 crore long-term debt), saving ₹7 crore to ₹8 crore in annual interest costs.
- Margin expansion drivers: Operating margins improved from 8.5% to 11.3% as the business moved into higher forward derivatives of acetone and began shifting lower-margin distribution products (5% to 6% margins) into in-house manufacturing.
- Revenue scaling potential: Currently generating ₹1,200 crore at 44% capacity utilization, the company can comfortably reach ₹1,900 crore on its existing gross block before undertaking expansions at 80% utilization. With an expected asset turnover of around 3.5 times and 20–25 acres of land at Mahad and Khopoli, revenue potential can scale past ₹3,000 crore.
- Raw material sourcing: The company fully imports its phosphorus requirements and imports 70% of its acetone, though domestic acetone supply is expected to increase with a new local manufacturer entering the market.
