Quint Digital is India’s only listed pure-play digital media and media-technology company, built by the founders who previously created one of the country’s largest media conglomerates. It began with a mobile-first news platform and has since transformed into an AI-driven, multi-brand group spanning publishing, technology, and now physical lifestyle experiences. The recurring pattern is a founder-led bet on digital audiences - first building a flagship newsroom, then selling the publishing tools it developed to other newsrooms globally, and now using that technology and audience base to expand into agriculture content, southern-India journalism, and even franchised food markets.
Business segments
Five engines at different stages - a flagship digital newsroom, a global SaaS platform for publishers, a southern-India news brand, a young-writer community, and a franchised food-and-culture market - each built on the audience and technology of the one before.
1. Quintype: the publishing software it built for itself, now sold to the world
An AI-powered content management system that over 300 publishers use to create, distribute and monetise stories - a SaaS business born from the company’s own newsroom needs.
- A full-stack newsroom in a box - Quintype gives digital publishers everything from content creation and SEO automation to real-time analytics and paywall tools, so they can focus on journalism rather than technology.
- AI that cuts costs and speeds up output - the platform promises six-times-faster content creation and workflows that can run at up to 75% lower cost than traditional processes, using AI for drafting, paraphrasing, translation and headline suggestions.
- Global scale from Bangalore - it handles more than a billion monthly page views and produces four million distinct narratives in 25 languages, serving marquee names like Gulf News, Khaleej Times, Deccan Herald and Fortune India.
2. The Quint: the flagship newsroom that started it all
A mobile-first, video-heavy digital news brand that reaches hundreds of millions of viewers and now bets on premium, subscription-worthy journalism.
- Built for the phone, distributed everywhere - The Quint publishes across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, WhatsApp and its own app, generating 476 million video views and two billion impressions in a single year.
- Fact-checking as a differentiator - its WebQoof unit uses AI to spot misinformation in Hindi and English, building trust in a crowded information market.
- A deliberate pivot away from commodity news - it has announced a planned pivot to enterprise articles, features and video by high-calibre journalists, aiming to drive subscription and pay revenue rather than chase ad-supported volume.
- Over 300 commercial partnerships - revenue comes from a mix of reader payments, branded content, social collaborations and direct ad sales, with banking, financial services and education among the largest advertiser categories.
3. The News Minute: southern India’s independent newsroom
A digital platform with reporters on the ground in all five southern states, focused on politics and social issues from a feminist and human-rights perspective.
- A distinct geographic and editorial lens - The News Minute (TNM) covers Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala in text and video, filling a gap that national English-language outlets often overlook.
4. Youth Ki Awaaz: a crowdsourced platform for young India
India’s largest user-generated platform for young people, where over 200,000 contributors write about social, cultural and political issues - and which now doubles as a civic-data operation.
- From storytelling to policy input - it has transformed into India’s first civic data platform, running a Centre for Public Insights that turns citizen-generated quantitative and qualitative data into research meant to shape public policy.
5. Time Out India: a franchise that turns a media brand into a physical market
A bet that the global Time Out guide can become both a digital city magazine and a 24,500-square-foot food hall in Delhi - the first franchised Time Out Market anywhere in the world.
- Two businesses under one brand - Time Out Media runs a digital guide to India’s cities (launched in early 2026 for Delhi and Mumbai), while Time Out Market will bring top chefs, bars and a performance stage under one roof near Delhi’s international airport.
- A first-of-its-kind franchise deal - the binding agreement signed in mid-2026 is the first time Time Out Group has franchised a Market rather than owning it, with Quint Digital funding and operating the venue while Time Out collects franchise fees.
- Media company moves into lifestyle - the company describes this as an expansion from media and tech into India’s retail-cum-lifestyle commerce segment, requiring a change to its constitutional documents to permit hospitality operations.
Group structure and partners
A listed Indian parent with a growing American subsidiary, a stake in a NASDAQ-listed US newspaper chain, and a franchise relationship with a global lifestyle brand.
- Global Media Technologies Inc. (GMT) is the wholly owned US subsidiary that holds the group’s key technology assets - 90.15% of Quintype India and a controlling 50% stake in Quintype Technologies Inc., the American joint venture that owns Listen First Media.
- Shvaas Creations, a 77.5%-owned subsidiary, runs the Kisan India agriculture platform and acquired the Quint Hindi YouTube channel when the company consolidated its Hindi content strategy.
- Quintillion Media Limited, the former subsidiary that originally held The Quint, was merged into the parent in March 2025, simplifying the group structure.
