- PPA portfolio strategy: The company has contracted 300 MW (50%) of its 600 MW Binchkote thermal capacity under medium- and long-term PPAs, currently supplying 200 MW, with 100 MW starting April 1, 2027. Management aims to eventually lock in 70% to 80% of capacity under long-term PPAs to reduce earnings volatility.
- Power generation capacity: Total operational capacity stands at 930 MW—comprising the 600 MW Binchkote thermal IPP, 160 MW of captive power across Raipur and Vizag, and 170 MW of hydro IPP. Adding 50 MW of solar by September will lift total capacity to around 980 MW, supported by 140 MW of hydro power currently under construction.
- Binchkote plant expansion: Sarda Energy plans to double its Binchkote plant from 600 MW to 1,200 MW via a brownfield expansion targeted for completion by 2030. Key infrastructure including land, water, railway siding, and coal handling is already in place while environmental clearances and the detailed project report are underway.
- Energy operational performance: Energy operations contributed roughly two-thirds of consolidated EBITDA in FY26. The thermal asset operated at a plant load factor (PLF) of approximately 79%, achieving realizations of slightly above ₹5 per unit.
