- IPO divestment plan: The initial public offering includes a 10% stake sale (6.3% from SBI and 3.67% from Amundi) as part of a 10-year regulatory strategy to divest 25% equity. Key industry competitors HDFC Mutual Fund and ICICI Mutual Fund participated heavily as anchor investors, securing ₹200 crore allocations each.
- AUM and scale: SBI Funds Management oversees approximately ₹29 lakh crore in total assets, including ₹13 lakh crore in mutual funds and ₹17 lakh crore in fixed-income portfolio management services. The firm also leads the passive fund segment with a 30% market share, managing ₹4 lakh crore.
- Margins and inflows: Monthly active SIP inflows stand at ₹4,000 crore, helping expand overall margins by 3 to 5 basis points over the past three years as active assets outpaced passive growth. Management noted that recent SEBI telescopic pricing and Total Expense Ratio regulations had virtually zero impact on revenue.
- New growth engines: The company is targeting at least 10% of its incremental profit from newer initiatives, including Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), Gift City platforms, and inbound/outbound international investments via its partnership with Amundi.
