Schaeffler India Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. E-axle localization and ramp-up - The lifetime e-axle order book stands at EUR 300 million, with the Talegaon line inaugurated and Phase 2 localization underway to build a local supplier base for child parts. System-level e-axle value runs in five digits versus two-to-four digits for components, so this shifts the mix toward the highest-value EV content in the portfolio.
  2. Exports growth and intercompany allocations - Exports grew \~28% YoY in H1 CY26, driven by intercompany allocations, with the full-year outlook upgraded to \~10-12% growth and India serving as the group's best-cost country. At 17% of sales mix and rising, exports add a second growth engine that is not tied to domestic auto cycles.
  3. Shoolagiri greenfield plant - The fifth plant at Shoolagiri was commissioned in August 2025, with Phase 1 at 16,500 sqm within a 108,000 sqm plot, running above 85% utilization and a second hall under contemplation. The land bank is six times the current hall, so capacity can scale without new land acquisition as powertrain and chassis orders land.
  4. Clutch line relocation from UK to Hosur - The Sheffield clutch line relocation to Hosur is done, with lines being laid out and full realization expected in CY26; 80% of output serves domestic demand. This brings UK-cost production to India-cost, lifting margins on the entire clutch portfolio while freeing intercompany capacity for export orders.
  5. Koovers digital aftermarket platform - Koovers delivered Q2 CY26 revenue of ₹79 cr, with dark store and hub infrastructure build-out complete and 2026 focus shifting to channel and product mix. EBITDA breakeven is targeted for 2029, so the platform is a funded growth option on the aftermarket rather than a current earnings drag.
  6. Industrial bearings localization and capacity - Localization reached 78% in Q3 FY26, with all plants running above 85% capacity utilization and spherical roller bearings the continued focus. Each localization point pulls import content into domestic production, widening margins while the high utilization leaves room for productivity gains without new capex.
  7. New product launches - large-size spherical roller bearings - Large-size spherical roller bearings with cast steel housing, seals and lubrication were launched under the FAG brand from Savli, targeting steel, cement, mining and power plants. This moves Schaeffler from component supply into assembled, higher-value units for exactly the industrial segments where India's capex cycle is strongest.
  8. Railway bearings and approvals - New railway product approvals have been received, with capacity build-up on track and high-value rail, wind and marine projects won. The TAROL heat treatment facility at Maneja is commissioned, so the rail order pipeline now has dedicated domestic heat-treatment capacity behind it.
  9. Hybrid powertrain - Series production from the Indian plant has started for one hybrid win, with more projects in homologation and validation. Hybrid content is delivered at module level as an add-on to ICE, so each win adds per-vehicle content without cannibalizing the existing ICE business.
  10. Aftermarket portfolio expansion - The INA product portfolio is expanding into aftermarket, with new wins in front-end auxiliary drive mechanisms and timing kits, plus a dedicated two-wheeler spare parts range introduced at ACMA Automechanika 2026 in New Delhi. Aftermarket carries structurally higher margins than OEM supply, so each new product line broadens the high-margin revenue base.
