Skipper Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. 450k MTPA capacity ramp-up - The second 75,000-ton expansion is expected operational in H2 FY27, taking total capacity to 450,000 tons; the first 75,000-ton block commissioned in Q2 FY26 is fully operational and export-focused. Each new 75,000-ton block carries revenue potential of ₹700-1,200 crore annually, and with utilization already above 85%, this capacity converts directly into near-term sales.
  2. Record order book conversion - Q1 FY27 closed with the highest-ever unexecuted order book of over ₹9,200 crore, of which approximately ₹5,000 crore is expected to execute in FY27; management guides FY27 inflows of ₹7,000 crore-plus, taking the closing book past ₹10,000 crore. At current revenue of \~₹5,600 crore, executing ₹5,000 crore in a year is near a doubling of the top line, with legacy low-margin contracts now under 5% of the book.
  3. Export order inflow jump - Export order inflow is expected to jump more than 50% YoY in FY27 to about ₹1,100 crore, driven by North America and Australia plus traditional Middle East, Africa and LatAm markets. Exports carry better margins than domestic work, and management targets a 50-50 domestic-export mix in 2-3 years, up from 22% of engineering revenue in FY25.
  4. Indian TBCB bidding surge - Transmission bids are expected at ₹90,000 crore-₹1 lakh crore in FY27, nearly double last year's muted ₹50,000-60,000 crore, with intrastate projects now also coming through the TBCB route. Skipper's bidding pipeline is at an all-time high of ₹35,000 crore with a historical 20-25% conversion ratio, and the company holds 12-13% share in the high-voltage line segment.
  5. Substation EPC entry - Skipper is executing close to 4 high-voltage substations, its first foray beyond transmission lines, with margins similar to the engineering business. Once the current 132 kV and 220 kV projects commission next financial year, the company becomes qualified to bid for larger substation jobs, opening a new addressable market beyond the lines-only ₹50,000 crore it currently serves.
  6. Polymer segment scale-up - Polymer crossed ₹500 crore revenue in FY26 with volume growth close to 40%, and management guides 20% top-line growth for FY27. The target is a ₹1,000 crore brand in the next couple of years with double-digit EBITDA margins, up from low single digits today - a roughly 2x revenue jump at improving profitability.
  7. BSNL telecom tower execution - The ₹2,570 crore BSNL order for ground-based telecom towers covering about 3,350 sites is under execution, having begun in Rajasthan and Odisha. This non-T&D book - currently about 14% of the order book, mostly BSNL O&M - diversifies revenue beyond power transmission and adds a second large infrastructure customer.
  8. Backward integration cost edge - Skipper sources \~90% of raw materials (hot-rolled strip and structures) through captive sources, with seven in-house galvanizing plants and four Power Grid-approved manufacturing plants. This integration protects margins on the record order book as steel and zinc prices move, and it was a key qualification factor in the North American pole orders where Skipper is the first Indian supplier.
