Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. PTB demerger & listing - TPTL shares were allotted on 28 July 2026, with listing expected in four to six weeks; the demerged entity holds PTB's \~35% PBIT margins and recorded order booking of ₹467 crore for FY26. The listing unlocks independent value discovery for the high-margin gears business, which TEIL's current 5,355 crore market cap does not reflect.
  2. Gears capacity to ₹700 crore - PTB's ₹340 crore capex, complete by September 2026, lifts annual gears capacity (ex-defence) from ₹400 crore to ₹700 crore of revenue. At \~35% PBIT margins, the incremental ₹300 crore capacity adds roughly ₹105 crore of segment profit against FY26's ₹120 crore.
  3. Defence facility ramp-up - The dedicated Mysuru defence facility was commissioned in December 2025 with production underway; orders run from double-digit to triple-digit crore, with one \~₹45 crore order in Q3 FY26. The facility is the first of four planned bays, giving PTB a scalable platform for repeatable naval and aero orders without fresh tender.
  4. Ethanol allocation & pricing - Triveni secured 17.18 crore litres under cycle one of OMC tenders, with cycles 2-4 expected to add at least 200 crore litres industry-wide. Management expects to run distilleries at 100% utilisation, and ethanol prices are expected to be revised upwards from the next supply year.
  5. Shamli turnaround - The 7,500 TCD Shamli unit, loss-making in FY26, is expected to rebound sharply in the coming season on higher cane availability, resolved operational issues, and lower costs from capex. The adjacent 100 KLPD distillery, idle since acquisition, adds capacity and top line without new capex.
  6. IMFL branded whisky rollout - Matsya and The Crafters Stamp launched in 25 UP districts in July 2024, with a planned state-wide rollout covering 5,000+ retail outlets by FY26. The brands have won multiple international awards and recently expanded to Delhi, building a second earnings leg beyond the profitable country liquor business.
  7. Water order book conversion - The water business holds a ₹1,472 crore order book as of Q1 FY27, including ₹1,065 crore of long-duration O&M contracts. With bids exceeding ₹300 crore in Q1 FY27 and expectations of L1 in several projects, the EPC backlog supports revenue conversion despite the slow quarter.
  8. Cane varietal substitution - The share of vulnerable Co0238 cane fell from 75% to under 40%, replaced by high-sucrose, high-yield varieties. Management expects significant improvement in cane availability and yields in FY26, directly lifting sugar volumes and recovery across the 70,500 TCD crushing base.
