- IPO and valuation: Turtlemint is launching an approximate ₹900 crore IPO with a price band of ₹144 to ₹152 per share and a ₹700 crore fresh issue, targeting a post-listing market cap of ₹4,500 crore compared to an earlier ₹6,500 crore valuation. Existing investors are selling only 3% to 4% in the offer for sale due to their long-term commitment to the business.
- Distribution business model: Over 97% of revenue stems from insurance distribution, with 75% generated from tier-3 and tier-4 (B30) markets through a network of over 6 lakh registered advisors using the Turtlemint Pro app across 19,000+ pin codes. The company has issued more than 2 crore policies during the DRHP period.
- Path to profitability: While currently in a pre-profitability stage, Turtlemint reduced its fixed cost ratio from 42% to 24–25%, which narrowed negative EBITDA from -54% to -15% and improved service EBITDA from -11% to +11%.
- Regulatory commission outlook: Management believes upcoming IRDAI distribution reforms and commission caps will act as a tailwind, as lower pricing drives volume growth in under-penetrated markets and benefits the company's low-cost distribution model.
