- Growth strategy: UCO Bank is pursuing sustainable, profitable growth and aims to remain among the top 5 public sector banks on growth parameters. Last quarter, credit growth was 24.7%, with retail up around 30%, agriculture 29.59%, MSME 20% plus, and corporate 24%.
- Credit and deposits: The bank’s 12 to 14% full-year advances growth guidance has already been surpassed, but management does not normally revise guidance during the year and expects growth to remain above it. Deposit growth has picked up; the bank expects to maintain its CD ratio around 82% and may use borrowing, overseas borrowing, refinancing, and other avenues to support lending.
- Funding and loan mix: Against a target of 500 million US dollars during the FCNR(B) window, UCO Bank raised around 700-plus million dollars under FCNR(B) deposits as well as OFCB. RAM advances are more than 65%, above the 62 to 65% guidance; management expects the retail, agriculture, and MSME composition to stay in the same range.
- Retail focus: Home loans, around 47, 48% of the retail book, are growing 20% and remain a key focus; management also sees demand in vehicle and home loans during the busy season. Gold loans are around 7 to 8% of total advances, roughly ₹22,000 crore plus, with 1/3 in retail and 2/3 in agriculture.
- Capital and returns: Government of India ownership is around 90%, after a ₹2,000 crore QIP in March 2025 diluted around 4% stake; there is no confirmed plan for further issuance, though the bank has approvals to dilute further if needed. Management expects RoA to move towards 1% next year, not within this year.
