- Strong quarterly results: Vedanta's net profit rose by about 88% to ₹9,352 crore on revenue of ₹24,609 crore (up 47.5%), with EBITDA increasing 44% to ₹7,559 crore and margins reaching 30.7%.
- Structural cost reduction: The company contained input cost inflation through structural investments in alumina refineries, renewable power at Hindustan Zinc, and domestic coal consumption, which will continue lowering costs as volumes expand.
- Demerger debt distribution: Debt was eliminated for the oil and gas and iron and steel businesses prior to the demerger, while remaining debt is allocated across the five entities based on their cash generation ability and EBITDA projections.
- Deleveraging roadmap: Following a $1.5 billion (₹13,000 crore) debt reduction last year, the company plans to reduce debt by another $1.5 billion (₹13,000 to ₹14,000 crore) in FY27, lowering its net debt-to-EBITDA ratio from 0.95 to 0.65.
- Capex completion status: Around 60% to 70% of growth capital requirements are already funded—including finished aluminium investments, two-thirds of FACOR, and 90% of ESL—enabling entities to fund remaining project completions from operational cash flows.
