Welspun Specialty Solutions Ltd Growth Catalysts - SOIC x StockScans Report

as of Aug 2026

  1. Bright bar capacity tripling - The 50,000-tonne bright bar facility, part of a ₹75 crore expansion to 84,000 MT, completed installation and is stabilizing as of Q1 FY27. This triples saleable bright bar capacity to 100 KMT with no further capex planned for three years, and management aspires to grow volumes 20-25% this year.
  2. Supercritical boiler tube orders - WSSL secured its largest-ever order, \~4,050 MT of Super-304H tubes from BHEL valued at \~₹232 crore, with 40-50% executed in H1FY26. With \~80 GW of supercritical thermal capacity planned over eight years and one 800 MW unit consuming 4,000-5,000 tonnes, this approved-supplier position feeds a multi-year order pipeline.
  3. Nuclear steam generator qualification - NPCIL placed a development order for Nickel Alloy 800H steam generator tubes, a material currently imported; successful qualification makes WSSL a strategic domestic supplier. India targets 100 GW nuclear capacity by 2047 from 8,180 MW today, and management expects "huge activity" in the next four to six quarters.
  4. Export recovery on nil US duty - The US Department of Commerce determined Nil anti-dumping duty on WSSL's bar exports under a New Shipper Review. Exports fell to \~20-25% of sales in Q1 FY27 on tariffs and destocking; when demand normalizes, over 90% of bar export volume is expected in bright bar form, which the new facility can supply.
  5. NORSOK oil & gas certification - NORSOK M-650 certification in FY 2025-26 enables formal qualification at European and Middle Eastern NOC procurement programmes, with a "significant opportunity" identified in Middle East OCTG. First orders are already flowing - Alloy K500 from a German customer and Super-13Cr for oil wells delivered.
  6. Volume growth on spare capacity - Capacity utilization sits at \~40-45% on steel and \~60-65% on pipes, and management aspires to grow volumes 20-30% annually, targeting 80-90% utilization in three to five years. Pipes and tubes volumes already grew 60% YoY in Q1 FY27 to 1,425 MT.
